Community

We want to make a difference where we live. Our church has led, developed and continues to support several local helping services, particularly in the Teams area of Gateshead.

We also have links with a number of old people's homes in Gateshead. This includes visiting and conducting an annual Carol Service in the homes for those that cannot get out.

We are currently reviewing our programme of community action to examine where we can make the biggest impact.

If we can help you contact us.

The Teamwork Family of services is made of six parts. Kelvin Grove contributes to Teams and Community Care (4901172/4900945). This provides transport to and from day clubs in Teams, Dunston, Lobley Hill, Saltwell and Bensham. These allow elderly people to take part in day clubs, exercise, aquafit, bingo, home and hospital visits and meal delivery services.

The other five parts of Teamwork are: Teamwork Community Development which oversees all the projects (4900945); a Food Co-op which provides affordable vegetables locally; a free furniture and household items company (donations welcome on 4600978/4900945); Happy to Help, a domiciliary and social care organisation; and Beezz Neezz which makes meals for the community restaurant at Fountain Court an home in Bensham.

Our contact is Bernie Gill who can be contacted on bernie@teamwork/onyxnet.co.uk.
